Hey! So Glad You're Here.

Today about 85% of workers are employed by someone else, large or small, organizations set up rules, structures, standards, and oversight. We spend most of our lives in them, not only for work, but also for education, healthcare, entertainment, recreation, and for consumption. In this way organizations generate patterns of how we live in societies, they shape us and affect us. Moreover, because change is intrinsic to them, as they are entities that group individuals who are constantly doing, implementing, reflecting, and interacting with themselves, others and with their environment, organizations could be used to improve our existence on the planet.

Understanding organizations, apart from being extremely interesting - as they are a product of human behavior - also gives us an opportunity to improve their performance, find ways as society to live better, and attempt to solve current existential problems such as the climate crisis, mental and physical illnesses, inequality and poverty, among other topics.

So, I'm glad that you are here! In this blog, I discuss and explore various topics related to organizations and processes of organizing. To do that I zoom in on individuals, on how they act, feel and embody organizational practices. I also position them in the bigger picture of where they are, and where they are embedded.

This is the reason why in this blog you will find articles on sensemaking - “referring to the mechanism by which [we] attribute meaning to, reflect on or attempt to understand [our] experiences” (Van den Ende et al., 2021, p. 233).-, symbolism, identity, emotions, but also power, culture, change, New Ways of Working such as Telework or hybrid work, employee engagement, control strategies, and globalization, among other topics.

Thank you for being here, I hope you enjoy reading!

Drop me a line if there are topics that you would like to know more about or if you have any questions.
